MY STORY: this is why you should listen

MY name is Tim. I'm 49 years old.

Four years ago I was rushed into the emergency room of the University Hospital's Case Medical center in Cleveland (OHIO). My daughter had come home to spend some time with us at Thanksgiving.

This was your typical All American Thanksgiving dinner with the entire family finally reunited.

THE NEW FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH?

For as long as humans have ruled this world, one (if not the only) of the main battles mankind has ever fought is the battle against ageing. Ever since the 17th century, doctors, scientists and biologists have invested their lives' work trying to find out why humans get older, and how to stop and reverse it.

There are a million products on the market. People want to feel younger, better and much more energized, regardless of the price.

Let me give you a word of advice. Before you invest in any of those products, please understand that NOTHING will ever reverse the ugly truth that we are all going to get old. There's no stopping that (yet).

While scientists and doctors are still busy looking for the fountain of youth, I have found an all natural product THAT HELPS me keep my blood pressure low and makes me feel BETTER. In the end, isn't that what we really want?

Yes I'm ageing and yes I'm getting older, but MARINED3 helps me feel much about it. I haven't felt this way since my early 30's and that's why I need to tell you all ABOUT it!

Marine-D3 is a scientifically designed little purple ocean-based super-pill that floods your body with the same repairing, enriching, and youth giving secrets that deep sea algae uses to live as long as 200 years, & helps lower and restore your blood pressure levels.

MARINED3 is ten times more powerful than any antioxidant on land, including vitamin C, vitamin E, blueberries, green tea and red grape Resveratrol. It's one of the most powerful antioxidants available.

Its protective compound can get into things like the fatty tissues of your brain and penetrate all three layers of your cells, including the outside, the oil-based cell membranes and your DNA.

TREATMENT

High blood pressure is one of the easiest diseases to prevent. Treatment varies. Some Doctors prescribe meds, others prescribe lifestyle changes. We strongly recommend a combination of both.

MEDS

Doctors prescribe meds. We don't. You should always consult your doctor and discuss with him/her what's the best course of action to treat your High blood pressure. In our experience though, we have found a few NATURAL products that work incredibly well in lowering high blood pressure.

Marine D3

I've been using this product since 2011. Best I've tried. Marine-D3 is the most potent fish oil supplement on the market. It provides an effective way to not only slow, but reverse the effects of ageing and lowering your blood pressure. All claims about this product are supported by strong scientific research and backed by numerous testimonials. Marine-D3 is the highest quality fish oil product out there, and if for whatever reason you don't like it... there is a 60-day money back guarantee.

LIFESTYLE CHANGES

- Avoid Cigarettes. Tobacco products increase your blood pressure immediately. Also, the chemicals found in cigarettes can damage your artery walls. This means your arteries will narrow and your blood pressure will increase.

- Exercise. I know you are aware of this. Exercise has tremendous benefits for the heart. It makes blood circulate smoother, cleans arteries, frees blockages... It's the heart's BEST ally.

Exercising regularly doesn't necessarily mean running 10 miles a day. Ask your doctor before practising any exercise. If you want to get started right away, walking at a fast pace for 30-40 minutes every other day can greatly benefit your heart.

- Stress. This is the 21st century. Who doesn't live with stress? We live in such a demanding world these days that sometimes we forget to hit the pause button. Stress is a normal part of life, but too much can lead to emotional, psychological and physical problems. While doctors are still investigating the direct impact on your heart, when you are stressed, your blood pressure goes up,you overeat, you may not exercise as much and you get fewer hours of sleep. All those factors are DO have a direct impact on the health of your heart.

- Diet. Again I may not be telling you anything you don't know. We are all aware that if you have bad eating habits, you gain weight. By gaining weight, your heart has to put more effort into pumping blood than it would if you were lighter. That in itself can increase blood pressure. The biggest concern though, is the price your arteries pay for this. When you are overweight, your blood does not flow through your arteries as well. The risk of clotting (clots of blood that make it difficult for the blood to flow) dramatically increases and could lead to heart attack or thrombosis.

- Alcohol. While studies reveal that the occasional glass of wine is beneficial for your health, too much alcohol increases your blood pressure. Doctors recommend an average of no more than one glass of wine per day.

- Salt. Table salt is not beneficial for your health, particularly the salt found in processed foods. Cut down on table salt. Sodium increases blood pressure because it causes your body to retain too much fluid, putting additional pressure on your heart.

Reducing the salt in your diet lowers blood pressure. o Sleeping habits.- Your body needs to rest properly. As we get older, 7 hours daily is what doctors recommend.

One 2008 study from the University of Chicago found a link between not getting enough sleep and increased coronary artery calcification (calcium deposits), which is "a good predictor of subsequent coronary artery disease," says researcher Diane Lauderdale, PhD, professor of epidemiology at the University's Pritzker School of Medicine.

Lauderdale's study also revealed that sleeping less predicted worsening hypertension (high blood pressure). "For most people, blood pressure falls at night," she says, "so it could be that a shorter sleep doesn't allow enough time for that dip to take place."

This means that if you don't sleep for long enough at night, your blood pressure will not fall as much as it should, keeping HBP for longer.

When you don't sleep well, you can't function properly the next day- This puts an extra burden on our heart that has to work even harder in order to help us function normally.

There you go. Seven commandments you must follow if you want your heart to stay healthy. I know it's hard to apply them all to your life. Try cutting them down progressively (unless your health is at VERY high risk).

DIET

Healthy eating

High blood pressure or hypertension has become a common condition worldwide. Hereditary factors, physical inactivity, obesity and excessive alcohol consumption are the main triggers of this disease that threatens our hearts, making us likely to suffer heart disease.

healthy food

Once you are diagnosed with high blood pressure, it is advisable to make several changes in your lifestyle; one of the most important is to adjust your diet to improve your health.

These are some essential guidelines you should follow:

  • Limit the amount of salt in food
  • Limit the amount of high fat meals
  • Limit the amount of refined grains in your diet
  • Limit the amount of sugar, specially sweetened drinks
  • Limit the amount of alcohol and caffeine

Salt

If you suffer from hypertension, one of the most important aspects to consider when it comes to eating is to control the amount of salt in your diet, as this influences fluid retention and affects your pressure.

So it is important to:
Reduce the use of salt when preparing your dishes, replacing it with alternatives that do not affect blood pressure, such as herbs.
Avoid purchasing high sodium products such as canned food. It is always wise to check the sodium content on the product's label.

fat

Fat

High blood pressure is a condition that can significantly affect the health of your heart, so it is necessary to control your intake of fat and protein.

Always choose lean meat or opt for more healthy proteins like chicken, turkey or fish.

Avoid eating too much cured meat - it contains a lot of fat and is high in salt. Opt for lighter products such as turkey ham and, if possible, always choose low salt products.

Limit your intake of fried foods and junk foods, as these harm your health and affect your blood pressure.

If you consume dairy, always choose skimmed products, as they are much lighter and better for your heart.

Refined grains and Sugar

To improve your blood pressure you should pay attention to your diet as a whole. It is recommended to consume complex carbohydrates such as whole meal bread, whole wheat pasta, brown rice and oats, among others. Always choose these alternatives before white carbohydrates.

You should also moderate your consumption of refined sugar; choose natural products like fruits and avoid pasta and pastries that affect the health of your heart.

Alcohol and Caffeine

Excess alcohol is one of the main triggers of high blood pressure, so it is important to monitor your intake and, if possible, to avoid alcohol completely.

You should also reduce your consumption of beverages such as coffee, tea, soda and energy drinks, as these do not benefit your heart or your blood pressure.

fruit

Foods you should EAT:

  • Banana. Rich in potassium and fiber. Eat two a day for one week, studies show you can lower your blood pressure by 10%.
  • Beet: Drinking 500 ml (17 fl oz) each day can have tremendous benefits for your health. Especially your heart.
  • Garlic: It's a miracle food. Make garlic your new friend -I know your breath probably won't appreciate it- but garlic is the best of the best. Acts against respiratory infections, also helps Arthritic disease and protects you against many cancers. It's the most powerful food to battle High Blood pressure.
  • Artichokes: Artichokes can reduce cholesterol levels.
  • Cocoa: Study conducted by researchers in Germany revealed that Cocoa can significantly lower your blood pressure.
  • Broccoli: Rich in potassium, also contains Chromium, which helps regulate blood, glucose and insulin Do not cook them, eat them raw.
  • Tomatoes. Rich on calcium and potassium. Also contains vitamin A, C and E. Also contains a powerful antioxidant which prevents cardiovascular disease.

Foods you should AVOID:

  • Processed meats: Any meat preserved by smoking, curing, salting or with the addition of chemical preservatives fit into this category, including ham, bacon, sausage, hot dogs and luncheon meats.
  • Frozen Pizza: The combination of salty foods spells trouble for blood pressure.
Advice: Make your own with low fat cheese, lean meat and extra veggies.
  • Chinese Food: Your biggest enemy! Run from the Chinese! The sauce in Chinese dishes is loaded with sodium. Either stop eating Chinese food or order your sauce on the side.
  • Ready-to-eat boxed meals and side dishes: They are convenient, but loaded with sodium as well.
Advice: Look for brands with less sodium.
  • Sugar-sweetened beverages: People normally associate excess sugar with high blood sugar or diabetes. Truth to the matter is, excess of sugar also increases your Blood pressure.
Advice: Drink natural juices, sugar-free beverages.
  • Canned and instant soup: On average, a cup of canned chicken noodle soup contains as much as 760 milligrams of sodium. Eat the entire can - which makes two-and-a-half servings - and you'll get 1,800 milligrams of sodium. healthy shopping
Advice: Look for brands with reduced-sodium or no salt added. For instant soup or oriental noodles, reduce the sodium by using half of the seasoning packet.
  • Canned Tomato Products and tomato juice: Canned tomato sauce and tomato juice are loaded with sodium.
Advice: Look for low or reduced sodium options.

EXERCISE

exercise

Exercise has tremendous benefits for the heart. It makes blood circulate smoother, cleans arteries, frees blockages... It's the heart's BEST ally.

Exercising regularly doesn't necessarily mean running 10 miles a day. Ask your doctor before practicing any exercise. If you want to get started right away, walking at a fast pace for 30-40 minutes every other day can greatly benefit your heart.

Although physical activity is highly recommended to reduce blood pressure, not all exercises are suitable for hypertension.

These are the best exercises to practice if you have high blood pressure:

Outdoor Exercise

1. Walking over half an hour every day is a very suitable exercise to achieve lower blood pressure. Yes, we must insist that it should be at least half an hour, better if it is a whole , and you have to be consistent : you have to go for a walk every day.

2. The bike is also very suitable for people suffering from hypertension , but always at a moderate pace . If you take long journeys, make sure the sun is not too strong and avoid steep slopes which require much physical effort.

3. Swimming is a sport that can help regulate blood pressure, when practised moderately avoiding sprints and preferably opting for a slow but steady pace.

walk

4. Light aerobics in the water and advised by a monitor is another exercise which can help us with our problems of hypertension. Aerobic exercise is beneficial for regulating blood pressure, practised under water is ideal for people with high blood pressure.

5. Yoga, and other similar sports are also recommended for people with hypertension because, in addition to physical exercise, it teaches you to relax, a very important factor in the problems of hypertension.

Indoor Exercise

Nowadays is difficult to find time to go out and exercise. If for whatever reason, you can't get out to exercise a little, here's a video that will show you what you need to to to lower your blood pressure at home.

The key here is always consult your doctor first before enrolling into any exercise program. The exercises in the video below are very easy and will not required you to be in good shape to perform them.

Blood Pressure Monitors

If you suffer from High Blood pressure you need to take measurements at least twice a day. The more involved you get with your condition, the better results you will get from your treatment.

To be able to control your blood pressure you need a monitor. There are a ton of monitors out there. I strongly recommend you to get an arm monitor rather than a wrist one. Reason is wrist devices tend to be more inaccurate.

The one I use every single day is the Smart Blood Pressure Monitor by Withings. The best one if you have a smart phone / ipad. If you don't own a smart phone, Omron makes pretty reliable blood pressure monitors.

Plugs in perfectly to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
